  epp聚合物粘度产生快速,几乎是初始增长,低的熔体温度和发泡剂浓度可以增加熔体的粘度,减缓初始增长速度,有助于稳定此阶段的气泡增长。此阶段大约持续1s,拉伸速率可以超过lO,000s一。随着初始增长阶段的完成,在增长气泡周围的发泡剂立即被消耗完毕,距离气泡较远距离的气体分子需要扩散到增长的气泡点处,扩散路径的增加减缓了气泡增长的速率,气泡增长也就步入了第三个阶段:扩散增长阶段。

  在这一阶段,尽管聚合物熔体的粘度依然具有影响作用,但控制此阶段速率的主要因素是发泡剂气体扩散到增长气泡点处的速率。epp材料扩散需要时间,此阶段的气泡增长速率小于初始增长阶段,气泡的尺寸增长幅度减缓。
